The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv held a preparatory hearing in the case of the murder of public figure Iryna Farion. According to Interfax-Ukraine, the hearing, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., started late due to an anonymous bomb threat to the court building.

The defendant in this case, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, was brought to court at around 11:00. Despite the incident, the court declared the hearing open.

Extension of the preventive measure

During the hearing, the court decided to extend the measure of restraint for the accused. Zinchenko will be held in custody without the right to be released on bail for another 60 days – until 4 March 2025 inclusive. This information was confirmed by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The high-profile case of the murder of Irina Farion, a well-known public figure, has caused a wide public outcry. The charges against Viacheslav Zinchenko are based on evidence collected by law enforcement agencies as part of the pre-trial investigation.

The anonymous bomb threat has once again drawn attention to the security of judicial institutions. Law enforcement officers promptly checked the court premises, which helped to avoid further delays in the proceedings.
