As part of its ongoing humanitarian initiatives, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has donated 1,000 units of blood to Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza. The shipment, organised in cooperation with the Office for the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), passed through the Kerem Shalom crossing, ensuring the timely replenishment of vital resources needed to support the treatment processes and the life of medical institutions.
According to the news portal TimeUkraineIsrael, citing the IDF press service, this delivery is only part of a comprehensive humanitarian programme to support the people of Gaza. Currently, Israeli units, in cooperation with international organisations, continue to work on a large-scale provision of medical resources to the population affected by the crisis.
In addition to the ongoing blood donations, COGAT is currently coordinating support to Gaza through 14 field hospitals and has organised more than 2,800 humanitarian convoys that have delivered more than 28,000 tonnes of medical equipment and supplies. The activities cover all aspects of primary care, including medical supplies, patient stabilisation equipment and specialised hospital support kits.
The IDF will continue to comply with international law in providing medical and humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
