The Israeli military has announced that Idan Stivi, a volunteer photographer, was probably killed in an attack by Hamas militants at the Nova Festival on 7 October 2023. His body was allegedly taken to Gaza. This was reported by the Times of Israel and confirmed by representatives of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).
On Monday, one year after the tragic attack, the Hostage Families Forum and the IDF announced the conclusion of an investigation that revealed new evidence regarding Stivi’s death. The military established that he was killed on the day of the attack when he and his friends tried to flee the scene. His car was shelled, his friends were killed, but the militants took Shtivi’s body with them.
This decision was made on the basis of data confirmed by experts from the Ministry of Health and representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs and the police. According to the latest data, 34 of the 97 people abducted by Hamas and taken to Gaza have already been declared dead.
