Following the devastating rocket attack on Kryvyi Rih that shook Ukraine, doctors continue to fight for the lives of dozens of people. According to Sergey Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovs’k Regional Medical Department, 37 people remain in hospitals in the region, 19 of them in serious condition.

According to Lysak, the number of wounded has increased to 75 people, as one more person has sought medical assistance. Medical institutions in the region are working in an emergency mode to provide all necessary assistance to the victims.

“The condition of some patients remains stable and serious. Doctors are doing everything possible to save everyone’s life,” Lysak said.

Day of mourning

Today, a day of mourning has been declared throughout Ukraine for the victims of the attack. National flags are at half-mast across the country, entertainment events have been cancelled and relevant content is being broadcast on TV and radio broadcasters.

A rocket attack that took a life

As a reminder, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, hitting a residential high-rise building and infrastructure. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of civilians, including children. The attack on civilians is yet another evidence of the terror that Russia is waging against the Ukrainian people.

Government response

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attack “another war crime of the Russian Federation” and promised that “not a single Russian terrorist will escape responsibility”.

Local authorities urged residents not to ignore the air raid alerts and to support the victims, including by donating blood.

There are still 37 people injured in hospitals in the Dnipro region, 19 of them in serious condition. Today, Ukraine commemorates the victims by declaring a national day of mourning.
