Musab Hassan Yousef, known as the Green Prince, the son of one of the founders of the Hamas terrorist organisation, will speak to the Israeli public for the first time. His lecture will take place in Tel Aviv in Pavilion 11 of the Ganei Taarukha complex. Tickets range from NIS 259 to NIS 459. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing Vesty.
Youssef, born in 1978 in Ramallah, is the eldest son of Sheikh Hassan Youssef, one of the leaders of Hamas. For many years, he had the status of a confidant in the organisation’s leadership, but his life changed radically after his arrest by Israeli security forces in 1996. Initially, upon his release from an Israeli prison in 1997, Moussab agreed to cooperate with Shabak in an attempt to use it to further Hamas’ goals. However, he later changed his position, becoming an active informant who saved the lives of numerous civilians.
The path from Hamas to the defender of Israel
Working with the security services, Yousef helped prevent dozens of terrorist attacks by passing on information about the preparation of attacks and the activities of suicide bombers. Thanks to his information, Israeli forces dismantled a number of Hamas cells and arrested senior Hamas officials, including Abdullah and Marwan Barghouti, as well as Ibrahim Hamid, one of the leaders of Hamas in Judea and Samaria.
In 2005, Yousef officially renounced Islam, converted to Christianity and became an outspoken critic of Hamas’ ideology. In 2009, he published his autobiography, Son of Hamas, which caused a wide response around the world. In the book, he described his difficult journey from an ardent supporter of Hamas to a consistent defender of Israel.
New life and active citizenship
In 2010, Musab Hassan Yousef was granted political asylum in the United States. There, he continued his fight against terror, speaking on the international stage as one of the most powerful pro-Israeli voices. After numerous threats, his life is under protection. In 2014, filmmaker Nadav Shirman released the documentary The Green Prince, which tells the fateful story of Yousef.
Harsh criticism after the October events
After Hamas’s large-scale attack on Israel on 7 October 2024, Yousef further intensified his criticism of the former organisation. He has been active in the Western media, calling for a decisive fight against terrorism and supporting Israel in the international arena. His speech in Tel Aviv will be an important event that will attract the attention of both Israelis and the international community.
Musab Hassan Yousef is a unique example of a man who has gone from a radical Islamist to a defender of democratic values. His story is not only a testament to his personal transformation, but also a powerful message about the importance of fighting against hatred and terror. His lecture in Tel Aviv will be another step in promoting these ideas.
