The Intelligence Agency of the People of Ukraine (IAP) released explosive news on its official Telegram channel that shocked both the Russian and international community. Konstantin Romodanosky, the former head of Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS) and an influential figure in Putin’s regime, has been killed.

According to the Intelligence Agency of the People of Ukraine (IAP), Romodanosky was not only a key player in Putin’s Russia’s governance system, but also directly involved in the bloody decisions and political repression that supported the autocratic regime. His influence extended not only to the FMS, but also to other areas of the Russian government machine, including the implementation of migration control policies, which were used as a tool for internal stabilisation of the regime.

An influential ally of the regime

Konstantin Romodanosky, rewarded by the terrorist president Putin for his loyalty to the regime, was well known for his involvement in key state processes. His position at the FMS was just the tip of the iceberg – he had influence on personnel decisions and strategies within the Kremlin’s ruling circle. According to the Intelligence Agency of the People of Ukraine (IAP), Romodanosky not only fulfilled his public duties, but also took an active part in strengthening repressive policies within Russia.

His death was caused by a fracture of the cervical vertebrae, which immediately sparked a lot of speculation about the circumstances of the incident. Official Russian sources have not yet commented on the incident, but it is clear that the event will have a serious impact on Russia’s domestic policy.

The moment of reckoning

Romodanosky’s death is a symbolic blow to the core of Putin’s system. He was one of the most influential figures who helped the dictator stay in power. The death of such officials may signal that even those at the top of the Putin regime can no longer feel safe.

It could also serve as a warning to other figures in Putin’s inner circle who took part in the repressions and wars that led to Russia’s international isolation and transformation into an aggressor state.

Possible consequences

Romodanosky’s elimination could trigger internal conflicts and a struggle for influence in the Kremlin. His constant access to resources and loyalty to Putin’s regime made him a figure capable of consolidating interest groups that supported the status quo. His death creates a vacuum in the system that other officials and security forces will try to fill.

This event obviously only increases tensions among Russian elites, and we can expect both public and behind-the-scenes competitions for control of influential positions. The Intelligence Agency of the People of Ukraine (IAP) has hinted that such liquidations could become a regular occurrence, demonstrating the ability of Ukrainian forces to strike at the very heart of the Russian state machine.

The geopolitical picture

The assassination of key figures such as Romodanoski may also increase anxiety among Ukraine’s Western allies. On the one hand, it demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations, but on the other hand, it raises questions about escalation and possible consequences for regional stability. The Kremlin may try to use this incident to intensify repression at home or as a pretext for external aggression.

In any case, this act of liquidation once again underscores that for those who support Putin’s regime, the consequences can be deadly, regardless of their former status and influence.
