On Saturday night, Kyiv suffered one of the longest and largest combined attacks in recent times: the enemy used attack UAVs and ballistic missiles. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the head of the KCIA, Timur Tkachenko, reported this on their Telegram channels.

The alarm was sounded at 21:07 and lasted for 8 hours and 59 minutes, with the ceasefire being announced only at 06:06.
The targets of the attack were residential buildings, educational institutions and industrial facilities in different districts of Kyiv.

As of the morning, at least 1 death has been confirmed – a US citizen who was found dead in the Solomianskyi district. At least 18 people have been reported injured, six of them hospitalised. Most of the victims are in Solomianskyi district.

The main consequences of the attack:

  • Solomiansky district: Two residential buildings were damaged, a fire broke out in a five-storey building, there were injured. A school was damaged.
  • Shevchenkivskyi district: Fire in a high-rise building.
  • Darnytskyi district: A kindergarten and non-residential buildings were damaged.
  • Dniprovskyi district: Destruction of an industrial area, a fragment of a “Shahed” stuck in the wall of a residential building.
  • Podil district: Debris falling in the open.
  • Obolon district: A car was damaged and power outages were reported.
  • Holosiivskyi district: Power outage due to automatic equipment failure.

Rescue services have set up a humanitarian headquarters at 9a Akademika Shalimova Street. Search operations at the impact sites are ongoing.

The air defence system worked in waves, as kamikaze drones came in groups from the north. The head of the KIAA, Timur Tkachenko, specifically called on Kyiv residents not to publish photos and videos of the aftermath of the attacks and air defence operations, so as not to help the enemy adjust their fire.

This attack was another attempt by the Kremlin to terrorise Kyiv and exhaust Ukrainian air defence forces. The enemy tried to use combined tactics to complicate the work of the capital’s air defence.

The situation remains tense, with new groups of hostile drones spotted in other regions of Ukraine that could be targeting Kyiv.
