On the morning of 15 January, the Russian Federation launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine, targeting the energy infrastructure of Lviv region.
- First air raid alert (01:35 – 02:48):
An enemy attack drone entered the airspace of Lviv region, but was shot down by air defence forces. No casualties or damage were reported. - Morning alarm (06:12 – 08:12):
Russian troops attacked Lviv region with cruise missiles. Two critical infrastructure facilities were hit in Drohobych and Stryi districts. There are no casualties, but there is damage to the infrastructure.
Situation in the region
The head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that the region’s life support systems are operating normally. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi clarified that emergency power cuts are not currently being applied in Lviv.
Air defences are effective: thanks to the coordinated actions of the military, casualties and serious consequences were avoided.
