Russian special services have launched a dangerous information operation disguised as SBU officers to recruit Ukrainians. This was officially warned by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Fake agents send fake summonses via messengers – allegedly due to “open criminal proceedings” related to the purchase of prohibited goods. Then they call and offer “help” in exchange for criminal tasks: surveillance, transportation of items, arson, sabotage.

One of the most disturbing aspects is the requirement to install malware on the phone that allows the user to be monitored.

According to the SBU, while the FSB used to target teenagers, it now targets the elderly.

“The Security Service of Ukraine acts exclusively within the law. We never demand the installation of software or dubious actions,” the SBU press service emphasises.
