Detention of pro-Russian activist in Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an active propagandist in Kyiv who openly called for a violent change of power in Ukraine and the physical removal of high-ranking officials. This was reported by the Time Ukraine Israel portal, citing the SSU press service.
Cooperation with pro-Russian forces
The detainee turned out to be a supporter of the Shariy Party, which is banned in Ukraine. According to the investigation, he coordinated his subversive activities with representatives of pro-Kremlin politicians who are among the top twenty pro-Russian forces. Using his own social networks, including Telegram, YouTube and Instagram with an audience of almost 20,000 people, the defendant actively spread calls for a violent seizure of power and incitement to hatred.
Instructions from Shariy’s representatives
He published his destructive materials on the instructions of representatives of Shariy’s party, who are abroad and carry out informational sabotage on the orders of the Russian special services. The investigation established that the propagandist received tasks through anonymous chats in messengers, which is confirmed by the searches conducted.
Seizure of evidence during a search
During the search of the detainee’s apartment, a laptop, mobile phone, membership cards of the Shariy party, pro-Russian materials and drugs were found. The seized materials became the basis for a forensic linguistic examination, which confirmed the fact of his involvement in information and subversive activities in favour of the Kremlin.
Charges for subversion and drug possession
The detainee was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for public calls for violent change of the constitutional order and seizure of state power. The possibility of additional qualification of the suspect’s actions on the fact of drug possession is also being considered.
The offender is currently in custody and faces long-term imprisonment with confiscation of property. This detention was the result of a comprehensive operation conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
