Sumy – The Security Service of Ukraine jointly with the National Police, the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard launched large-scale counter-intelligence operations in the city. These actions are aimed at preventing threats of reconnaissance and subversive activities in the context of ongoing Russian aggression.
The operations cover all districts of Sumy and include possible restrictions on traffic and street passage, as well as document checks and vehicle inspections. In the event of suspicions about individuals, law enforcement officers have the right to conduct additional checks. Specialists also inspect public areas and premises to identify prohibited items.
The Security Service calls on residents to be understanding of possible inconveniences and to comply with the requirements of law enforcement officers. Citizens are advised to have their identification documents with them and to observe the curfew.
The SSU emphasises that its activities are based on the principle of legality and protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens. These measures are aimed at increasing security and ensuring peace in the region.
