On September 22, around 2:00 PM, the Kyiv Region Police received a report about a shooting in a store located in Obukhiv District. An unidentified man entered the shop and began shooting randomly, injuring the shopkeeper and the owner. After the attack, the shooter fled the scene. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers quickly arrived, called for medical assistance, and launched a search for the attacker. It was later revealed that the shooter was a 36-year-old local resident with a criminal record. The police promptly detained the suspect.
Medical personnel treated the injured, and their lives are not in danger.
Investigators have initiated a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism involving the use of firearms). The suspect faces up to seven years in prison. The case is being overseen by the Kyiv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Central Region.
