A shooting took place on Highway 4, leaving two men injured. The police promptly arrived at the scene after receiving a report of a 30-year-old man being seriously wounded. His condition is assessed as critical. According to israelinfo, the victim was shot at by a passing car at the Yavne Darom junction.
After that, the attacker continued to drive along the highway and opened fire again at the Nir-Galim junction, wounding a 42-year-old man. The victim was hospitalised with a moderate injury. The attacker was neutralised during a shootout with police, which was witnessed by eyewitnesses.
The police are currently refraining from classifying the incident as a terrorist attack and are conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances. The section of Highway 4 where the shooting took place is closed to traffic.
