A high-profile scandal is unfolding in the Khmelnytsky region over the massive issuance of disability status to prosecutors. According to journalist Yuriy Butusov, 49 prosecutors, including regional prosecutor Oleksiy Oliynyk, were granted disability status, allegedly through a corruption scheme organised by the head of the MSEC, Tatyana Krupa. This was reported by the expres.
The mechanism of the corruption scheme
Butusov emphasises that law enforcement agencies in Khmelnytskyi region were aware of the large-scale corruption system and could have been its accomplices. An analysis of prosecutors’ declarations revealed a large number of disabilities issued under Krupa’s leadership, suggesting abuse by public officials.
“Almost all prosecutors in Khmelnytskyi region were classified as group 2 disabled according to decisions made by the chief doctor of the MSEC, Tetiana Krupa. Many of them had been receiving state disability pensions for years,” Butusov said, emphasising the unprecedented situation.
Financial implications
According to the investigation, the total amount of pensions received by 50 disabled prosecutors from taxpayers is at least UAH 54.1 million. Some of them started receiving these payments as early as 2016, while others have received them recently.
In addition, the investigation revealed that Tetiana Krupa has significant financial assets. In the Polish bank Bank Polska, they found $590,000 that had not been declared. These funds were transferred to the bank’s account in October 2022, and during a search of her apartment in early October 2024, documents confirming this transaction were found.
Ambiguous connections
The journalist calls for an urgent review of all decisions of the Khmelnytsky Oblast’s MSEC regarding the issuance of disability certificates to law enforcement officers and their family members. “There are almost no healthy prosecutors left in the Khmelnytsky region,” Butusov emphasises, which indicates an anomalous situation that requires urgent investigation.
This case has caused a wide public outcry, calling for decisive action by law enforcement agencies to prevent corruption schemes that could undermine trust in state institutions.
