6 October, Be’er Sheva – tragic news from the central bus station: Shira Border Police Sergeant Haya Suslik was killed in a terrorist attack. The incident occurred at around 14:30, when an unknown attacker opened fire using firearms and cold steel, Newsru.co.il reported.
According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, 11 people were injured in the attack. The worst fate befell a young woman who, despite the efforts of medics, died in hospital. The rest of the victims, including ten young people, sustained various injuries, ranging from severe to minor. Two of them were taken to Soroka Hospital in serious condition.
After the incident, three people needed medical care to overcome nervous shock, which indicates the psychological impact of the tragedy on witnesses.
The terrorist was eliminated on the spot, but this horrific event once again highlights the growing tensions in the region. Local police are continuing their investigation to establish all the circumstances of the incident. It is noted that security in public places is currently under increased control.
The society responds to this tragedy with deep sympathy, expressing support to the family of the deceased and all the injured.
