At the UFC 307 tournament held in Salt Lake City (USA), 28-year-old Ukrainian fighter Igor Poterya, known as “The Duelist”, met with promising Brazilian Cesar Almeida in the middleweight category (up to 83.9 kg). Unfortunately, the Ukrainian was defeated, but his spirit and courage remain an example for many.
According to TimeUkraineIsrael.Losing (20-6) from the first rounds, he faced strong pressure from Almeida, who worked confidently in the stand-up, constantly landing punches. Despite growing fatigue and numerous blows to the body, Igor continued to fight to the end. He did not give up, although the Brazilian demonstrated his superiority throughout the fight. As a result, the judges’ verdict was unanimously in favour of Almeida – 30-27 three times.

This was the second defeat in a row for the Ukrainian after an unsuccessful performance in May, when he lost to another Brazilian, Michel Pereira, in the first round. Potter’s UFC record currently stands at 2 wins and 5 losses, but his will to fight and experience continue to give him the strength to move forward.
Despite this fiasco, it is worth noting that every fight is a step towards improvement. Igor Poteria is a fighter with great potential and incredible resilience who is not afraid of challenges. New opportunities await him ahead, and Ukrainian fans are confident that Poteria will continue to develop and reach new heights in MMA.
