The majority of Ukrainians (69%) continue to believe in Ukraine’s ability to repel Russian aggression, according to a survey conducted by the Sociological Group Rating. At the same time, the society feels tired of the war, regardless of age, gender or region.

Over the year, the level of belief in victory has not changed significantly: 24% have increased, 23% have decreased, and 49% have remained stable. However, the combat enthusiasm that characterised the first months of the war is gradually fading, and Ukrainians are increasingly tense and apathetic.

Sociologists point out that society is increasingly willing to end the war as soon as possible by any means necessary. At the same time, the very understanding of victory is changing: while it used to be associated with a return to the 1991 borders, today for many it is primarily the cessation of active hostilities and stopping the enemy’s advance.

Despite the growing fatigue, Ukrainians remain united in their desire for freedom and independence, but the state faces an important task – to maintain the morale of the nation and outline clear prospects for the future.
