7 October 2023, 6:30 am. This moment has become a turning point in the lives of thousands of people in Israel. Disturbing news began to spread in Ukraine and around the world: numerous attacks on civilian settlements caused shock and fear.
Places that were full of joy and hope yesterday have now become epicentres of violence. Be’er Sheva, Nahal Oz, Nir Oz, Re’im, Kfar Aza, Sderot, Ofakim, Nirim, Holit, Zikim, Ashkelon – these names are now associated with pain and loss.
The Nova festival, which was supposed to be a celebration, turned into a tragedy. The people who gathered for the festival witnessed the horrific events that claimed the lives of many and led to numerous injuries. Among them were those who had been kidnapped.
Today we remember the victims, our heroes who gave their lives for the safety of their loved ones. We pray for the return of the hostages who remain in the hands of the aggressors.
These events are being perceived not only in Israel, but also around the world, where the international community is calling for peace and dialogue. The country’s authorities have already announced mobilisation, and world leaders are calling for urgent negotiations to end the violence.
In Ukraine and abroad, people are expressing solidarity with the Israeli people, hoping for a quick resolution of the conflict and a return to peaceful life. The situation remains tense, and the world is watching.
