President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leaders of more than 30 frontline communities in the Dnipro region to discuss the allocation of an additional UAH 1.5 billion subsidy. The funds will be used to support communities that are constantly under enemy fire and need to quickly restore critical infrastructure.
Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, spoke about the results of the meeting on TV.
According to him, the government has already allocated UAH 1.5 billion for communities on the frontline. These include Dnipropetrovs’k, Donetsk, Kharkiv and other regions that suffer from shelling. The money will be spent on shelters, the purchase of special equipment, the prompt restoration of damaged networks and assistance to utilities.
Dnipropetrovska oblast will receive UAH 42 million, while Donetsk oblast will receive the largest amount – UAH 418 million. The list of supported regions also includes Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
In addition, the government will allocate about UAH 10 million per month to communities in the frontline areas, depending on the size of the population. The funding will be used to build shelters, purchase materials and equipment, transport for utilities, and emergency repairs related to gas and electricity supply.
During the meeting with the Head of State, they also discussed infrastructure projects implemented with the support of international partners. These include the construction of a water pipeline, social housing for internally displaced persons, installation of modular gas boilers and the launch of a 250 MW gas turbine power plant.
