After the end of martial law in Ukraine, it will not be possible to organise elections to the authorities through the state e-service Diia. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in an interview with theUkrinformnews agency published on 11 April.

According to Stefanchuk, current threats in cyberspace and the high level of hacking make online voting technically impossible in the current environment.

“I think this is unrealistic. What is happening today in the technological space – diplomatic hacks, cyberattacks, security system bypasses – does not allow us to guarantee the credibility of the elections,” the parliamentary speaker stressed.

He stressed that the issue of holding elections through Diia is primarily a technological challenge, not a legal one.

“This can only be done when the technological reliability and public perception of such a process is 300% guaranteed,” Stefanchuk added.
