Tax on luxury cars: which regions paid the most

In the first half of 2025, the largest revenues from transport tax were generated by car owners in Kyiv – over UAH 26.5 million. Dnipropetrovs’k region came in second with UAH 8 million, followed by Odesa region with UAH 7.6 million and Lviv region with UAH 6 million. These data were published by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

The agency reminded that transport tax is payable by owners of passenger cars not older than five years, the average market value of which exceeds 375 minimum wages established as of 1 January of the relevant tax year. In 2025, this threshold will be UAH 3 million. The tax rate remains unchanged at UAH 25,000 per year for each such car.

This year’s list includes luxury cars from such brands as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, GMC, Hymer-Mercedes, Ineos, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lotus, Lincoln, McLaren, Maserati, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Maybach, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Toyota.

Every year, by 1 February, the Ministry of Economy publishes the official list of cars subject to taxation on its website.
