At the end of June, Tel Aviv University hosted two significant international conferences: Cyber Week 2024 and AI Week 2024. Both events are globally renowned and attract leading experts and specialists in their respective fields.
Cyber Week 2024 provided a platform for discussing the most pressing issues in cybersecurity. Seminars, sessions, and round tables allowed participants to exchange knowledge and experience, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing current challenges in cyberspace. Presentations covered a broad range of topics, from personal data protection to national security in the digital age.
AI Week 2024, on the other hand, focused on showcasing the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. Participants had the opportunity to see how innovative intelligent systems impact various industries, from healthcare to finance. Leading representatives from academic and industrial circles discussed the prospects and challenges of implementing AI in everyday life and business.
A standout moment was the presentation by the Israel Innovation Authority, highlighting the country’s impressive achievements in the field of startups and artificial intelligence. Israel ranks third in the world for the number of startups working in artificial intelligence, with 83 companies in the Gen AI sector, trailing only the USA and the UK.
As part of the national program aimed at AI development, investments of approximately 600 million shekels are planned by the end of the current year. This underscores the strategic importance of this field for Israel and the need for close cooperation between government bodies, industry, and the academic community.
These conferences not only reinforce Tel Aviv University’s position as a center of advanced research but also affirm Israel’s status as a global leader in innovation and technology.
