On July 10, the American company Apple sent a warning to users in 98 countries about a potential security threat similar to an “espionage hacker attack”. According to the online edition of TechCrunch, the messages do not indicate the list of countries in which users received these notifications.

Apple’s warnings stated: “Apple has discovered that you are the victim of a spyware attack that attempts to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID. This attack is most likely targeted at you because of who you are and what you do. While it’s never possible to achieve absolute certainty in detecting such attacks, Apple takes this warning very seriously – please take it seriously.”

Business Standard, one of the largest publications in India, was one of the first to report receiving such a message. The article states that Iltija, the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, received the notification.

Cybersecurity experts suggest that such attacks may involve attempts by public or private hackers to gain access to personal data and communications of targeted individuals. Apple recommends that users who receive such warnings take precautions such as updating their software, using two-factor authentication, and being extra vigilant for suspicious activity on their devices.

Such warnings from Apple testify to the growing threat of cyber security and the need for constant monitoring and protection of personal data.
