Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine — The Burshtyn Thermal Power Station (TES), one of the key energy infrastructures of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, was seriously damaged by more than 12 Russian shellings and, according to the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast State Administration (ODA), Svitlana Vonishchuk, cannot be restored .
Mrs. Onyshchuk in her official address emphasized the large-scale destruction caused by the intense attacks, which made it impossible to restore the TPP.
“For some time now, we have understood that the Burshtynskaya TPP cannot be restored, it is very badly destroyed,” said Svitlana Onyshchuk.
The destruction of the thermal power plant will endanger the provision of the city of Burshtyn with heat and hot water in the coming winter period. In response to this crisis, the local authorities quickly agreed to the allocation of six boiler houses, which will be used to heat social facilities and residential buildings in the city.
The incident once again emphasizes the importance of protecting this critical infrastructure of Ukraine and the need for continued international support in the fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation. Decisive and coordinated action remains key to ensuring energy security and stability in the region.
