Over 15,000 cases were recorded during the week, with COVID-19 detected in 27 people
Kyiv has recorded 15,225 cases of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), including COVID-19. This was reported by the Kyiv City Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
The total number of cases increased by 7.7% compared to the previous week.
Children account for 63.3% of all patients, although last week their number was 67%.
Statistics by population groups
📍 C hildren:
The incidence increased by 2.3%, from 9 , 468 to 9,688 cases.
➖ S choolchildren are getting sick less often: the number of cases among them decreased by 14.4% over the week, to 4,955.
📍 Adults:
The number of cases increased by 18.7%, from 4 ,663 to 5,537.
📍 Hospitalisation:
➖ 324 people were hospitalised with influenza, ARVI or COVID-19, including 228 children.
📍 COVID-19:
27 cases were identified, including 6 children under 17.
➖ 4 adults were admitted to hospitals, but there are no patients in intensive care.
Is there a risk of an epidemic?
Despite the increase in the number of cases, the infection rate is still 1.5 times lower than the epidemic threshold and amounts to 515.7 cases per 100,000 people.
However, doctors urge residents of the capital to take preventive measures – wear masks in crowded places, wash their hands regularly and get vaccinated.
