The Arab League removed Hezbollah from the list of terrorist organizations
The League of Arab States (LAS) no longer considers the Lebanese organization Hezbollah a terrorist organization. This was reported by Al-Akhbar newspaper with reference to the assistant general secretary of LAS Husam Zaki.
“The League decided to withdraw the status of a terrorist group from Hezbollah, as this party plays an important role in contemporary politics and the future of Lebanon,”
the Egyptian diplomat emphasized. He said this at a meeting in Beirut with the head of the Loyalty of the Resistance parliamentary faction, Muhammed Raad. Zaki also noted that his visit expresses solidarity with Lebanon and its people on behalf of LAS Secretary General Ahmed Abu al-Gheit.
This meeting was the first since 2016, when, on the initiative of Saudi Arabia, the LAS included Hezbollah in the list of terrorist organizations. She was accused of supporting Iran’s interests in the Middle East and interfering in the internal affairs of Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf.
We will remind, earlier the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, said that the organization is ready to attack any part of Israel thanks to its arsenal. According to him, Lebanon has prepared for “difficult days” and now Israelis must expect the Lebanese “on land, sea and air”.
