The United States will not participate as a mediator in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. This was stated by US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce during a briefing.
n Bruce’s words, President Donald Trump believes that US foreign policy should be balanced and diplomatic, but in the situation with the war in Ukraine, the key responsibility lies with Kyiv and Moscow.
“We will not be flying around the world to organise mediation meetings instantly. Now everything is in the hands of both sides – it’s time for them to present concrete ideas on how to end the war,” Bruce said.
The State Department spokesperson also confirmed that the US remains committed to supporting Ukraine and has no plans to lift existing sanctions against Russia.
This position of Washington indicates the growing pressure on Kyiv and Moscow to find realistic scenarios for ending the war, without active mediation by the United States.
