On the night of 17 April, Russian troops launched another attack on the Dnipro River using attack drones. According to official reports, the attack killed three people, including a 17-year-old girl. At least 30 people were injured, five of them children.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service, the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“Late in the evening, the enemy attacked the town with drones. The Russians killed three people, including one child. Preliminarily, 28 people were wounded, including four children,” the first report of the State Emergency Service said.

Later, the information was updated: the number of victims increased to 30, including five children. 16 people were hospitalised, one person is in serious condition.

Lysak said that about ten multi-storey buildings and the same number of private houses were damaged as a result of the strike. The school building, gymnasium, dormitory, food processing plant, post office, printing house, administrative building, shops, and almost fifteen cars were also destroyed.

Several fires broke out in the city, which were promptly extinguished by rescuers.

According to the command, the air defence forces managed to destroy 10 enemy drones over the Dnipro region.

In his address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 17-year-old Veronika was among the dead.

“Eternal memory to every life taken by Russia. We will do everything to make the terrorist state accountable for every crime,” the Head of State noted.
