In the Kara-Kulja district of Osh region, Kyrgyzstan, a significant natural disaster has occurred. According to the regional Department of Emergency Situations, at least 13 people have fallen victim to landslides. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing Interfax. Initial reports of the tragedy emerged on June 28, but as more information became available, the scale of the disaster proved to be much more severe.
On June 30, a dramatic incident shocked the nation. A landslide swept away a Daewoo Matiz car carrying a family of five. Miraculously, only an 18-year-old girl managed to survive. This tragedy has touched many hearts, sparking a wave of sympathy and support across Kyrgyzstan.
On the same day, another disaster struck in the Nookat district. A landslide washed away and destroyed the only bridge at the 63rd kilometer of the Bishkek-Osh-Batken highway, significantly complicating transportation and putting the lives and safety of local residents at risk.
Meteorologists warn that heavy rains are expected in Kyrgyzstan until July 2, increasing the risk of new floods and landslides. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents to be extremely cautious, avoid staying in potentially dangerous areas, and keep up with weather updates.
This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety measures and the need for prompt response to natural disasters. Authorities continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the disaster and are providing all possible assistance to the victims and their families.
