“Tragedy: Attack on Filippos Tsanis Over Wearing Cross”

Yesterday afternoon, thousands of residents of Germany gathered in a park where an Islamist gang fatally beat 20-year-old Polish-Greek migrant Filippos Tsanis for wearing a cross. According to Bild newspaper, the incident occurred on the night of June 23 in the city of Minden (North Rhine-Westphalia). Filippos Tsanis and his friend were returning from his sister’s prom when they got into a verbal altercation with a “group of young men of eastern appearance” just meters away from the school. Witnesses reported that the attackers took offense at the cross that Filippos was wearing over his shirt.

Within minutes of the altercation, about 10 individuals attacked the pair. Tsanis’ 19-year-old friend suffered minor injuries, while Filippos was beaten with particular brutality.

reported by: 9tv.co.il “One of the gang members, a young man of eastern appearance with black mustache and wearing a neon-orange Adidas jacket, dragged Filippos aside and beat him until he lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground. Witnesses who saw the aggressive assailants fleeing called emergency services,” described Bild.

Filippos was hospitalized with severe head injuries. Three days later, on June 26, doctors informed his family that he had suffered brain death.

“We cannot believe something like this happened to us,” said Filippos’ father, Dimitris Tsanis, to Bild’s correspondent.

“I can’t believe my child is gone. I don’t understand why people use violence as entertainment. I don’t understand why people brutally beat someone without reason,” he added.

As reported by Minden police spokesperson Lucas Reker, the main suspect in the murder is an 18-year-old migrant who arrived in Germany from Syria in 2016 as an asylum seeker.
