The monument is called The Defiance Monument, which can be translated as “The Monument of Defiance” or “The Monument of Challenge”.
What the monument looks like
The 2.1-metre-high statue depicts Donald Trump in an iconic pose with his fist raised in the air. This is how he was photographed during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July 2024.
The monument was placed on a low pedestal with the donor’s name on it. According to Constantino, the monument is placed in a prominent place in the club, and Trump himself was in a great mood and joked a lot during the unveiling.
“This is a gift that will now remain forever in the President’s golf club,” the statement said.
The installation of the monument sparked a lively discussion on social media and in the US media, as Trump became one of the few American politicians to unveil a lifetime monument to himself.
