Ukraine is ready to sign a strategic agreement with the United States on cooperation in the minerals sector at any time. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a press conference on 4 March, UNN reports.
The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine has already approved a relevant document that provides for the creation of a Recovery Investment Fund jointly with the United States. This fund should become the basis for implementing joint projects in the extractive industry and stimulating American investment in Ukrainian natural resources.
“We are grateful to the American people. We are ready to sign this agreement to start cooperation with the US on a pragmatic, economic basis. This decision has already been approved by the Ukrainian government, and we can start at any time,” Shmyhal said.
According to him, the United States remains a strategic and extremely important partner for Kyiv. The Prime Minister stressed that the Ukrainian side is in daily contact with the White House and the US Congress, working systematically to deepen cooperation.
Shmyhal also expressed his belief that it is thanks to the support of the United States that Ukraine will be able to achieve peace and restore its economy.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian government has already agreed on the key parameters of the agreement on the establishment of the Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is expected to be jointly owned by Ukraine and the United States and managed by both countries to ensure transparent use of funds and support for strategic industries, including mining.
