Today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a significant development: Ukraine will receive a new package of military assistance from Poland. This has been made possible through the signing of a Security Agreement between the two countries today. Zelensky emphasized that the agreement includes cooperation details crucial for strengthening Ukrainian defense, particularly in the realm of air defense.
The President also expressed gratitude to Poland for its readiness and continued support during this critical time. He underscored the importance of special agreements aimed at establishing mechanisms to protect Ukrainian airspace from Russian missiles and drones that could be launched towards Poland.
This marks another step for Ukraine in bolstering international support and ensuring security guarantees amidst heightened geopolitical tensions. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has signed over 20 approved security agreements with allies, including the European Union, Lithuania, and Estonia, reflecting a high level of international trust in our country.
This new agreement with Poland provides Ukraine with additional security assurances and support in the event of any threats to national security, particularly from Russia, which could pose a threat to our country in case of its intentions for further invasion.
This is a crucial move for Ukraine in enhancing its defense capability and increasing security in the region.
