Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Korniichuk Discusses Strengthening Interregional Cooperation in Haifa

Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniichuk, visited Haifa on a working trip, during which he held meetings with key representatives of the municipal government and the Ukrainian community. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy.

During the visit, Ambassador Korniichuk met with Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav. The main topics of the discussions were the prospects for interregional cooperation and the establishment of twin city relationships between Ukrainian cities and Haifa. Special attention was given to discussing the creation of a Center for Ukrainian Refugees with the support of Haifa’s municipality. This center is intended to provide assistance and support to Ukrainian citizens who have found refuge in Israel.

Additionally, Ambassador Korniichuk met with activists from the Ukrainian community in Haifa to discuss the current needs of Ukrainian families. A key topic was the organization of National Multidisciplinary Testing (NMT) for Ukrainian schoolchildren residing in Israel, which would allow children to continue their education in their native language. The ambassador also urged the meeting participants to actively engage in the activities of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, emphasizing its importance for preserving cultural heritage and national identity.

As part of the visit, representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy also participated in the annual conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, dedicated to issues of multiculturalism. In their speeches, they highlighted Haifa as an example of successful interfaith and interethnic harmony, stressing the importance of such initiatives for strengthening civic unity.
