On Wednesday, July 31, the fifth competition day of the 2024 Paris Olympics began. On this day, 17 Ukrainian athletes will compete in four sports: diving, rowing, canoe slalom, and gymnastics.
Shooting
- Rifle, three positions, 50m qualification: Sergiy Kulish achieved an excellent result, scoring 592 out of 600 points, securing a place in the final, which will take place on August 1.
Diving
- Synchronized diving, 10m platform final: Ksenia Bailo and Sofia Liskun finished seventh out of eight teams with a total of 285 points.
Rowing
- Lightweight double sculls, semifinal: Ihor Khmara and Stanislav Kovalev did not advance to Final A but will compete in Final B for positions 7-12.
- Quadruple sculls, final: Yevheniia Dovhodko, Daria Verhogliad, Anastasia Kozhenkova, and Yekaterina Dudchenko delivered a dramatic performance, starting second at 500 meters and holding third place halfway, but dropped out of the top 3 and finished fifth.
Canoe Slalom
- Canoe, semifinal: Viktoria Us advanced to the final with a time of 114.26 seconds. The final will start at 18:25.
Gymnastics
- Ilya Kovtun and Oleg Verniaiev: In the individual all-around final, starting at 18:30, our athletes will compete for high positions.
Tennis
- Lyudmyla Kichenok and Nadiia Kichenok: In the women’s doubles tournament, our tennis players will compete in the Round of 16, with their match starting no earlier than 19:00.
- Marta Kostyuk: In the women’s singles tournament, Marta will begin her quarterfinal match no earlier than 21:30.
Boxing
- Aider Abduraimov: In the men’s featherweight category (up to 57kg), the Round of 16 bout will start at 21:32.
