Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Andriy Danik met with Director General of the Civil Protection and Preparedness Agency of the Kingdom of Sweden Mikael Friisell. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Swedish delegation got acquainted with the work of Ukrainian rescuers at one of the SES units. The guests saw a heavy-duty search and rescue team certified under the international INSARAG system, as well as a mobile safety class. Particular attention was paid to modern robotic equipment and the work of canine units.
Mikael Frisell stressed that Sweden will continue to be a reliable partner of Ukraine:
“Sweden will stand by Ukraine as long as it takes. One day, when the Victory Parade is held in Kyiv, I will be honoured to stand next to you and our blue and yellow flags and shout “Glory to Ukraine!” We will continue to support you with the most necessary things – until the victory and beyond!”
In turn, Andriy Danik stressed the readiness of Ukrainian rescuers to support European countries if necessary:
“If Europe needs our help, we are ready.”
The meeting was another important step in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden in the field of civil protection, security and preparation for common challenges.
