The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has announced the launch of a large-scale international advocacy campaign marking the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The campaign is being held under the slogan “Stand With Ukraine– Unite for Ukrainian Victory ” and unites Ukrainian communities around the world.
The campaign aims to unite the world around Ukraine
The main goal of the initiative is to remind the world of the three years of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and to draw attention to the grave consequences of this aggression for Ukraine and the international community.
The UWC calls upon the democratic governments of the world to intensify support for Ukraine, increase sanctions pressure on Russia and do everything possible to end the war and restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Wide geography of events – 78 countries and almost 1000 events
A key element of the campaign was an interactive world map, where Ukrainian communities have already registered nearly 1,000 events in more than 600 cities in 78 countries.
Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine can find the nearest event or register their own event here: uaworldmap.ukrainianworldcongress.org
Among the planned actions:
– Solidarity marches and rallies
– Flash mobs, exhibitions, lectures
– Screenings of films about Ukraine
– Prayers for peace and moments of silence
– Illumination of famous buildings in the colours of the Ukrainian flag
“World Alert” – a symbolic action of unity
A special element of the campaign will be the Global Alarm event, which will take place on 24 February 2025 at 18:00 local time in all parts of the world.
Ukrainian communities will sound the air raid alarm as a symbol of the ongoing war and a call for active action by the international community.
Paul Grod: “Today the world must unite for the sake of Ukraine’s victory”
The President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod, addressed Ukrainians around the world and called on everyone to join the events and support Ukraine at this important time.
“Today, more than ever, we must unite our voices to tell the world: Ukraine is fighting not just for itself, but for the values of democracy, freedom and human rights. We call on everyone to support Ukraine in its quest for victory,” said Grod.
He will also take part in a large-scale Stand With Ukraine rally in Washington, DC, which will take place today. The live stream of the event is available here: YouTube stream
