The US carrier strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Carl Vinson has entered the area of responsibility of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which controls operations in the Middle East. This was reported by Western media.

The group is being sent to reinforce the actions of another US aircraft carrier, the Harry Truman, which is taking part in strikes on Yemeni Houthi targets.

The Carl Vinson is currently deployed in the Arabian Sea. It has about 90 aircraft and helicopters on board, including fifth-generation F-35C fighters.

The US army has stepped up strikes against the Houthis since 15 March 2025, following an order from President Donald Trump.

According to the US military, after the start of massive attacks by US aircraft, the Houthis stopped attempting to fire missiles at Israeli territory. At the same time, they still periodically launch attack drones towards Israeli targets.

Washington continues to demonstrate its readiness for military escalation in the Middle East in order to protect its allies and deter threats in the region.
