196 combat engagements in 24 hours – Ukrainian Armed Forces hold back fierce Russian pressure along the entire frontline

Over the past 24 hours, on 9 May, the Ukrainian Defence Forces recorded 196 combat engagements with the Russian occupiers. The enemy conducted 34 air strikes, dropping 69 guided bombs, fired more than 4,100 times, including 35 times from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,174 kamikaze drones. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The fighting was particularly intense in the Pokrovsk sector, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 65 attacks in more than 20 localities. Another 31 attacks were repelled in the Novopavlivka sector, where the enemy tried to break through near Bahatyry, Novopil and Rivne.

In other areas:

  • Kharkiv region: 6 attacks in the area of Vovchansk.
  • Kupyansk direction: 3 attacks were repelled near Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka.
  • Limansky: 17 attacks, the enemy tried to advance near Lipove and Yampolivka.
  • Siverskyi: 8 attacks near Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnekamianske.
  • Kramatorsk: 10 clashes occurred near Chasovyi Yar and Kurdyumivka.
  • Toretsk: 15 attacks, including in the area of Toretsk and Diliyivka.
  • Orikhivskyi: 6 enemy attacks were successfully repelled.
  • Prydniprovskyi: 6 assaults without success for the enemy.
  • Gulyaypillia: no attacks were recorded.
  • Volyn, Polissya: no formation of strike groups was detected.

In the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian troops repelled 19 attacks, 13 air strikes and 316 artillery shellings were recorded.

The defence forces struck seven areas of concentration of manpower and equipment, a UAV control centre, three artillery systems and two important enemy targets.
