A large-scale attack: Ukraine shoots down 47 of 74 enemy drones

Ukraine has repelled a large-scale air attack, shooting down 47 of 74 drones launched by Russia on the night of 11 January, the Ukrainian Air Force reports on Facebook.

Areas of attack

Enemy drones attacked from four directions:

  • Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk – from the north-east,
  • Primorsko-Akhtarsk is from the south.

The occupiers used Shahed attack drones and other modifications.

The attack was repelled:

  • Anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force of Ukraine,
  • Electronic warfare (EW) units,
  • Mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

The air defence system operated in 11 regions: Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Kherson and Mykolaiv.

Damage has been reported in seven regions due to the falling wreckage of downed drones:

  • Outbuildings,
  • Private houses,
  • Institutions and vehicles.

According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. The injured are being provided with medical aid and the damage is being repaired.
