On the night of 17 February, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using 147 Shahed attack drones and imitation drones. The attack was carried out from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Ukrainian defence deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units. As of 09:00, 83 attack drones had been destroyed in ten regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Poltava, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
In addition, 59 simulator drones were lost locally, which did not have any negative consequences.
