On the night of 3 November, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing 96 attack drones and an X-59/69 guided missile. Air defence efforts succeeded in destroying most of the targets. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, a guided missile and 66 drones were shot down, attacking from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.
The attack was repelled thanks to the coordinated actions of anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups. Air defences were active in Kyiv, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Dnipro and Kharkiv regions.
Despite the success of air defence, 27 drones were lost. One of them flew towards Belarus, and two more disappeared in midair.
