The Ukrainian Air Force has reported a devastating week in the skies. Between 14 and 20 April, the defence forces eliminated 696 enemy drones of various types and three Iskander-K cruise missiles used by Russian forces to attack Ukrainian territory.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

Enemy losses in the air:

  • 159 Shahed kamikaze attack drones
  • 201 reconnaissance UAVs
  • 336 other types of drones
  • 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles

Ukrainian aviation carried out 140 flights over the week, of which:

  • 80+ – for fighter cover,
  • ≈50 – for fire damage to the enemy and support of ground forces.

The pilots carried out dozens of precision strikes on the occupiers’ equipment, manpower and command posts, using both missiles and air bombs.

In addition, the units of the Consolidated Rifle Brigade conducted 515 combat sorties using unmanned aerial vehicles:

  • 399 – for reconnaissance,
  • 116 – using drops and FPV drones.

As a result, the Air Force was also liquidated:

  • 8 enemy shelters,
  • 2 Supercam reconnaissance drones,
  • 1 barrage munition Lancet,
  • as well as 10 invaders.

Commentary by a military expert:

“The pace of drone strikes is impressive. The enemy does not stop attacking, but our units are increasing both intensity and accuracy. FPV drones have become an integral part of the battle,” noted military analyst O. Savchenko.

The Ukrainian skies remain hot, but control over them is increasingly in the hands of our defenders.
