On 8 June, 159 firefights took place between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and Russian troops, making it one of the most intense days in recent weeks. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian defenders stopped 47 enemy attacks. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning briefing on 9 June.
Russian troops struck:
- 1 missile strike,
- 83 air strikes (142 guided bombs were used),
- 5661 artillery attacks, including 131 from MLRS,
- attacked by kamikaze drones – 3139 cases were recorded.
The hottest destinations:
- Kupyansky – 7 attacks, all repelled.
- Limansky – 15 attacks, the enemy tried to advance near Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna.
- Siversky – 4 assaults near Hryhorivka and Vyymka.
- Kramatorsk – 6 attacks in the areas of Bila Hora and Kurdyumivka.
- Toretsk – 19 attacks near Toretsk and Yablunivka.
- Novopavlivske – 19 attacks, including near Novosilka and Vilne Pole.
- Gulyaypil, Orikhiv, Prydniprovsky – local battles with up to 4 attacks.
- Kursk direction – 27 attacks and 13 airstrikes (25 CABs).
Ukrainian aviation and artillery were impressive:
- 17 areas of concentration of Russian troops and equipment,
- 3 art systems,
- command and observation post,
- UAV control room,
- REB station.
In the Kharkiv, Volyn and Polissya sectors, the situation remained unchanged, no combat engagements were recorded and there were no signs of strike groups forming.
