Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov has said that the UK’s £4.5 billion in military aid in 2025 is unprecedented and critical to strengthening Ukraine’s Defence Forces. He made the announcement on his Facebook page on the eve of the meeting of the Contact Group in the Ramstein format.
According to the information, the UK has already transferred 140,000 pieces of artillery ammunition, is investing £350 million to supply 100,000 drones by the end of the year – 10 times more than last year – and is allocating £247 million to train the Ukrainian military.
“This is an unprecedented assistance that saves lives and strengthens our army,” Umerov said, thanking the British partners and Secretary of State for Defence John Gill for their unwavering support.
He also added that “every drone, every munition is a concrete contribution to victory, to the protection of our people and to the security of the whole of Europe”.
