A large-scale counter-attack took place near the village of Pishchane in Donetsk region, in which the Ukrainian military successfully repelled an attack by the Russian occupiers. As a result of the battle, the enemy was forced to retreat to the landings near the village of Shevchenko. This was reported by the DeepState project on the evening of 14 December.

According to them, the occupation forces began to move assault groups to capture Pishchane. At the same time, Ukrainian forces conducted stabilisation operations in the direction of the village of Shevchenko, which led to a counter-attack.

“The estimated forces of both sides were equal. Grenades, hand-held grenade launchers and small arms were actively used during the battle. Due to the decisive actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the enemy was forced to retreat to the forest belt near Shevchenko,” DeepState reported.

Despite the equal strength, Ukrainian defenders demonstrated professionalism and endurance, thwarting the enemy’s attempt to break through the defence. Information on the losses of both sides is currently being updated.

This battle is yet another indication that the Ukrainian army continues to effectively counter Russian aggression even in difficult conditions on the frontline.
