The situation in the southern part of the frontline is significantly deteriorating. According to Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defence Forces, the Russian occupiers have significantly intensified hostilities, with an increase in the number of assault groups, air strikes and drone attacks. This was reported by Ukrinform.

“Every day we observe an increase in the enemy’s activity: the number of combat clashes has increased, adjusted aerial bombs, kamikaze drones, artillery and aircraft are used. We record much more attempts to break through our defences,” noted Voloshyn.

According to the Defence Forces:

  • The number of hostilities increased by 33%;
  • the number of missile strikes by 50%;
  • The number of attacks by the Shaheda increased by 30%;
  • the use of kamikaze drones increased by 10%, to 700+ strikes per day, of which more than 400 in the Zaporizhzhia sector and about 300 in the Kherson sector;
  • enemy losses increased by 10% over the week.

Although the total number of Russian troops in the south has not changed much, the number of assault units being deployed from training grounds to the front line has increased. Fighting has particularly intensified near Huliaipol, where the occupiers are trying to break through towards Malynivka, including with the use of motorcycles.

According to Voloshyn, both sides are now striking in the so-called “dead zone” – 5-7 km deep from the front line.
