The Estonian government has decided on another package of military assistance to Ukraine, including equipment and ammunition. Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur noted that this aid package will be provided from the reserves of the Estonian Defence Forces, taking into account the needs of Ukraine, without compromising Estonia’s defence capabilities. The package includes naval uniforms, surveillance devices, sights, ballistic protection equipment and various types of ammunition. This was reported by ERR.
Estonia has already provided over €500 million in aid to Ukraine, which is 1.4% of its GDP. In addition, the country has previously provided Ukraine with Javelin anti-tank missiles, howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-tank mines, grenade launchers, mortars, vehicles and communications equipment. Training was also organised for more than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers.
Pevkur stressed that this package will not be the last, and an annual event will be organised in the near future to support Estonian companies that will provide assistance to Ukraine on a competitive basis. This also supports Estonia’s economy and security.
