A record 149 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline over the past day, confirming the continued high intensity of hostilities in key areas. The Armed Forces of Ukraine not only hold their positions, but also inflict significant losses on the enemy, destroying 13 areas of personnel concentration, one control centre and a critical enemy radar station. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 18 November.
Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions – epicentres of fighting
The largest number of clashes took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors. Ukraine confirmed 32 successful repulsions of attacks in the Pokrovske sector and 42 in the Kurakhove sector, where the enemy tried to break through the defences in many places, including near Kurakhove and Nova Illinka. Despite numerous attempts, the aggressor failed to advance, suffering significant losses in equipment and manpower.
Technical strikes and enemy artillery superiority
Despite the resilience of the Ukrainian troops, the enemy continues to use massive artillery and aviation. Over the past day, 132 missile strikes, 85 air strikes and over 4, 700 artillery attacks were recorded. The enemy also continues to use kamikaze drones, with a total number of more than 1,600 units, which indicates a constant escalation of the aggressor’s tactics.
Operation in the Kursk region and Russian strikes on its territories
An important stage was the continuation of operations in the Kursk region, where Russian airstrikes not only destroy civilian objects but also cause serious damage to infrastructure. During the day, Russian planes carried out 26 air strikes on their own settlements, which underscores the tragedy of the situation in the occupied territories.
Attacks and attempts to break through in other areas
In other parts of the frontline, in particular in the Kharkiv and Kupyansk sectors, the enemy carried out dozens of attacks using bomber aircraft and trying to break through the defences near Vovchansk and Starytsia. In the Liman sector, the enemy did not stop, launching six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Tverdokhlibove and Hrekivka.
