Active fighting is taking place in the town of Chasovyi Yar in Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenders are successfully resisting numerous attempts by Russian troops to break through to the local refractory materials plant. This was stated by the spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, Viktor Tregubov, on television, Ukrinform reports.

“Active urban fighting is taking place in Chasovyi Yar. The enemy is again trying to break through to the refractory materials plant, but Ukrainian soldiers are successfully countering them, inflicting significant losses,” Tregubov said.

According to him, Russian forces are using rather straightforward tactics: regrouping, accumulating resources and resuming offensive attempts. Despite this, the Ukrainian military continues to hold the line and inflict significant losses on the enemy.

Tregubov stressed that intense fighting in the area has been going on for a long time. Russian troops have been trying again and again to force local channels and break through to the strategic facility, but their attacks have been successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders.

The situation in Chasovyi Yar remains tense, but Ukrainian troops are demonstrating a high level of combat training and resilience, holding their positions.
